Dr. Dongho (Damian) Gwak is a board-certified psychiatrist in both adult and child & adolescent psychiatry. Known for his gentle, thoughtful presence, Dr. Gwak creates a calm, welcoming space where children, teens, and their families feel safe, respected, and understood. His commitment to youth mental health stems from witnessing how compassionate care can profoundly change a child’s life trajectory.

Dr. Gwak earned his B.S. from Rice University and his M.D. from Texas A&M School of Medicine. He completed his adult psychiatry residency at Rush University Medical Center and a child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Lurie Children’s Hospital through Northwestern University.

He treats anxiety, ADHD, OCD, autism spectrum disorders, and depression using evidence-based medication management and psychotherapy. His care is collaborative, family-centered, and tailored to the unique needs of each child. Fluent in English and proficient in Korean, Dr. Gwak values culturally sensitive care and connects easily with families from diverse backgrounds. Outside of work, he enjoys rock climbing, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.
