Dr. Carlson is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with nearly 20 years of experience treating patients 18 and older. She completed her psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and has worked across outpatient, psychotherapy, and higher levels of care.

Before joining North Star, Dr. Carlson began her career at Sierra Tucson, spent nearly a decade in private practice, and most recently treated patients at Rogers Behavioral Health in Skokie. She offers both medication management and psychotherapy for adults with anxiety, depression, and related conditions, with additional expertise in ISTDP-informed psychotherapy. Dr. Carlson takes a holistic, collaborative approach tailored to each individual’s needs.
